Google Make Sure Android Go Debut at MWC 2018



Google ensures Android Go will enliven the title of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. The plan, the annual event will be the debut of the Android Go device.

This information was revealed directly by SVP of Google's Platform & Ecosystem, Hiroshi Lockheimer, through Google's official blog. He also made sure shortly after sliding, the device can be purchased immediately.

"Starting next week, you'll see the first smartphone from Android Oreo (Android Go edition), and soon thereafter will be available for purchase," he wrote as quoted by Google's blog on Saturday (24/2/2018).

In addition to Android Go, Google also mentioned there will be the latest news about Android One. Lockheimer said, in the mat MWC, there will be partners who are ready to announce the presence of the new Android One.

To note, this year at once marks a decade of gait from Android. Released in 2008, the operating system is now active in two billion devices from 1,300 brands with 24 thousand products.

Android Go Release December 2017
 

Android Go itself officially slid in December last year. Operating system intended for low-end devices (cheap smartphone) is already available and can be used vendors including developers since late 2017.

Appropriate function, this operating system will be intended for devices with low specifications. Therefore, although Android-based Oreo, this operating system has been designed to run optimally on devices with 512MB of RAM or 1GB.

Google has also supported the presence of this operating system by preparing a light version of its besutannya applications, such as YouTube, Gmail, Google Assistant, and Google Maps.

The app for Android Go was designed with a smaller size than the regular version, so not spend a lot of device memory. However, Google called to keep improving the performance for the application can run optimally.

Differences Android Go and Android One
 

When launching Android Go, not a few who question the difference of this operating system with Android One. The reason, both operating systems that are designed for low-end or low-end devices.

For information, both are intended to improve the quality of lower class devices, but with different functions. Android One is a program that allows Google to work with manufacturers to develop smartphones.

Later, the smartphone will be supported with regular and always up-to-date updates, similar to Nexus devices. However, this program has grown to target middle-class devices, no longer just low-end smartphones.

Meanwhile, Android Go is a full version of Android available on the Android Open Source Project and can be used by all manufacturers. Not only that, this operating system is also equipped with Google built-in applications that have been adjusted.

Google itself has also invited the developers to prepare the application in welcoming the arrival of Android Go. It was expressed directly by the Director of Google Play APAC James Sander during the 2016 Google Playtime Southeast Asia.

He said, there are currently 2 billion active Android users. That number will increase in the next few years in line with the growth of the first users who use smartphones
